Michigan’s business tax climate ranks 17th in Tax Foundation rankings for 2010. The state achieved the same rank for fiscal year 2008, but had dropped to 21st in 2009. Michigan has moved up significantly since 2006, when it ranked 28th.

I’m confused. My review of the Tax Foundation rankings do show Michigan ranked overall as 17th however the Corporate Tax Index Rank is shown as 48th. There are various componets going into making up the overall rank however the Corporate (48th), Unemployment (45th) and the Property Tax (32nd) continue to rank among the worst in the nation. Only the Sales Tax and the Individual Income Tax are competitive.
It’s amazing that 7% is too big of a burden to pay for your collect benefit of roads, protection, water, etc. What a shame… I meet with Powers and he sounded like he was on the right track, but greed took over. You have no concern about this state or people, just profits.
