HIGH SCHOOL COMPLETION

Michigan’s Center for Educational Performance and Information reports that in 2007, 75.45 percent of high school students completed high school with a regular diploma in four years or less. In 2008, there was a very slight improvement, to 75.50 percent.

The percent of the population in Michigan aged 25 and over with a high school degree or higher has improved from 2006 to 2008. By 2008, 88.1 percent of the population age 25 and over had a high school diploma or higher, compared to the national average of 85 percent. Michigan ranked 21st in the country in 2008, down from 16th two years earlier.
